A shot from 2011 and a shot from today.  You can see the oval-shaped scar on the tree just barely above her head when she was two and at her shoulder three years later.  They've both grown since then too!

Essie had her first (if brief) visit to the Picton Sandbanks today.  She loved it.  Tomorrow she'll get her fill.

Essie loves to draw.  Give her a blank surface and she will fill that sucker up!  Today at the doctor's office she drew all over the chalkboard in the kid area but I found this deep sea fish the most charming of her creations.

Another trip to Menchie's for some frozen yogurt today.  Getting all the treats out of your cup is serious business!

Reflections

Waiting outside The Bay for the family tonight Essie noticed us reflected in the tiles overhead.  Seemed like too good a shot to pass up!

I had a bad day.

Actually, I had a wonderful day right up until the evening when I got in a car accident (the other driver's fault) and may no longer have a car as a result.  So this picture is to remind me that even so today was mostly magical.

Strangely Hairy

I took a picture of a plant like this one last fall when the frost was making everything look amazing.  I liked how the frost delineated all the little strange hairs on the leaves (seen here with an HD filter so you'll see better what I mean.)  I was surprised the other day to see one growing in the garden in our front yard.  I'll have to ask the lady downstairs what the heck it is!

Still Beautiful

Essie was still quite sick with a fever today.  After an afternoon dose of Advil she felt a bit more lively and told me that outside air makes sick people feel better, so out we went.  She was still not quite herself but she spruced up her ant hill just the same.
